Cool shit from Christmas!

First off, this was my favourite toy from this Xmas! Not because it was the one I played with the most, but because it sent me straight back to Xmas’ of my youth. Cousin Trude and Cousin Jill had a big one of these which I completely dominated the use of between the ages of 5 and 8. Gay much??? This one is so GLAMOROUS!!!

Cause I am such am amateur when it comes to buying presents for my three beautiful nieces and one spunky nephew, I was absolutely stoked when this dress I bought for my oldest Jai fit like a glove! Again I say, so GLAMOROUS!!! Just a little Asian influence from my recent Thai holiday.

Got the hot tip that my Jai and Nina were into Bindi Irwin so worked some professional magic to get some signed Bindi merchandise for their Xmas stocking. I will absolutely pimp myself and my job so that my nieces think I’m cool. Here is Nina clutching her Bindi doll, it was only on Boxing Day that we realised the doll spoke when squeezed. Who knew???

My Little Man Lucas, well everyone knows he is completely transfixed by anything to do with Cars, as in the Pixar movie. I am still transfixed by a 2 year old that can be transfixed by something even I struggle to understand. Lucas scored Cars 2, Mater and a Cars T in his stocking form Uncle St. Murphy. As far as gifts go this one was as close to a no-brainer as you can get…

And just to confirm how transfixed my little Lucas is, this is Lukey watching Cars 2 on Boxing Day…

All through Primary and most of High School I was called Smurf by all peeps. At the time I hated it, but now I kinda like it. So this pressie was as much for his dad as it was for Lucas cause I also want Lucas to grow up being called Smurf too. How fucking adorable is he?

I’m slowly slowly learning how to play games with my nieces and nephew. Sad to say, but this doesn’t come naturally to me. The girls got this amazing Potato Head game were you had to make your own. They are obviously brilliant at it, Uncle St. Murphy not so good. Mine is the one on the far right. Embarrassed.

Now the thing I’ve learnt this holiday with my youngest Isla is that this little princess aint necessarily a lady. I bought her cute frocks and fluffy toys but all she loves are bikes and food. Poor Lucas is lucky to get a look in with the bikes he got for Xmas cause Isla is all over them like a rash. And you take your life into your own hands if you stand between Isla and a snack.

Goddamn how cute and adorable are my nieces and nephews!

But let me assure you it was total bedlam when they were all opening their presents on Xmas morning. I haven’t seen such a frenzy for well over 25 years when it was a very similar room with me and my cousins. Weird how this whole family thing always comes full circle.

So at the end of this two day play-frenzy, this is how I found Lucas and Isla. Still eating and still watching Cars.

So fucking adorable!

  1. I was instantly drawn to the Mr Potato Head that was actually yours! I thought it was the coolest of the three. Love me some big googly eyes on things.
